My Bumblebee is growing ..... !
Back again to show off my boy! I love him, he's really coming out of his shell now and checking everything out and becoming less shy. I think I'm making some progress because when I used to reach in to get him out, he would hide his head and be in a tight ball. Now he just sits there and readily lets me grab him without jerking away. I'm skeptical of the people here that say snakes don't learn to recognize the scent of their owners. I see a lot of "negative" comments towards their behavior and "lack" of intelligence. I'm not one to anthropomorphize animals but I do think reptiles are smarter than we give them credit for. Learning the scent of a "good" person vs predator would be a simple skill, wouldn't it? I think the small amount of progress he's made to being aclimated to handling is great.

Anyway, I've renamed my little dude Atticus. Fits him better. He's been eating f/t adult mice and today I switched him to rat pups. He gobbled that thing down faster than I could get it in the cage! Woo hoo! Glad to have a good eater on my hands so far. He really has grown a lot since I've had him in this short time. I feel like he's always hungry....hopefully the switch to rat pups might help.

Here he is! These pics were taken a few weeks ago but thought they turned out nicely.

Nice colors on him!. if he is taking adult mice try a weened rat. the weened rats are the same size as an adult mouse around me both around 40 grams.

Ok, I will have to do that next time as I purchased 5 rat pups (they're pretty big, eyes opened and everything). So once I run out of them I'm going to step it up a notch again. Thanks for the suggestion!
