my second mama rat got out this morning. I found her sitting on top of the wood-shaving bag right next to her cage; climbing toward the cage to get back to her babies! But of course, as soon as I grab for her, she darts under the stand that the rat tanks are on. I yelled for my boyfriend, who had to dart out of the shower in a towel to help me. he lifted the stand, and I somehow grabbed the mama rat and tossed her back in her cage. I guess she didn't go far because she didn't want to abandon her young. Only reason she got out, was because I was using our toolbox to hold the cage lid down, and the boyfriend took it off without thinking yesterday. I'm just glad there's no big fat white rat free in my house anymore!
