When you live with mom and dad...you only get one room.

Sounds like you may have to wait to get the snakes you want till you move out. :( Such is the life of those still living at home. Unless mom and dad want some pretty snakes in the living room? ;)

I would just wait until you get your own place. Idk what else you could do...? You kinda answered your own question.

There are some ingenious people on here. I thought maybe someone had some crazy idea that could work

Buy a window A/C unit for your room to cool it down to an acceptable temperature? (Parental permission required, of course, but I imagine new reptile acquisitions would rely on that anyway.)

The snake room isn't connected to the house so I don't see why not. But I keep it at 82 right now. 77 wouldn't be too bad for pythons?

I don't know what it's called or where to get it, but some people hang up this clear plastic tarp material to help insulate parts of a room. Maybe you could divide the room somehow? You'd have the option of either cooling down the ratsnake side with an A/C unit, or raising the temperature in the ball python side with a space heater or flexiwatt. It'd be a bit wasteful electricity-wise, but you could offer to pay part of the electricity bill to appease your parents if it bothers them.

Is your snake room also your bedroom, or is it a seperate location? I saw that you said it was unattached to the house, so I'm imagining a garage or shed or apartment type deal. How far are you planning on going into the ratsnake project? If you're just getting one to see how you like them, could you keep it in your bedroom?
