Thinking of getting a herpstat... Which one?
Since they are having a sale, I figured now would be a great time since I'm about to be building my incubator and I need a tstat. For the purpose of an incubator and then to either use on my hatchling rack or my 2 RBI sweater box racks, which model do you suggest?

It's cheaper in the long run for the herpstat 4, instead of getting 4 herpstat 1's

Get the one that best fits your budget.

Thanks for the heads up on the sale

If you can afford it, get the herpstat 4 so you can run all four things. If you only need two, then get a herpstat 2. Like the other poster said, get what your budget will allow.

Personally I would use the vivarium by Reptile Basics. They are less expensive and work great. Plus you get good service, the probe is a plug in so if it goes bad you can just replace it and not the whole unit etc...

I have 2 ve200s at the moment but I was wanting to try a herpstat because I have heard great things and with the sale they are closer in price to the VE

I think the herpstats are a great product, and customer service at Spyder Robotics is top notch too. Also, my probes plug in on my herp 2. Thanks again for the heads up on sale too, I need another one too before my other boa comes home.

My probe plugs in on my herpstat 1 O_o so not sure how that is a bonus for VE, and I believe the herpstat has many more safety features when compared to the VE (I know someone did a comparison right up on a thread I read, I just can't remember the specifics)

Marissa, personally I would get a single unit for the incubator (Herpstat 1 would be my choice, especially considering the sale) and then a herpstat 4 for the racks.

I would just like a dedicated one for my incubator, probably just me being a worry wart, but it's my babies!

I would stay away from hydrofarm. I got a couple awhile back and they seem to short at the worst possible time.
