Hiya there is a site called VPI that I was just googling various ball python related stuff and they popped up, I do this every day but their site is pretty interesting just wondered if any of you had any thoughts -

oh yeah check this out - wild caught desert ghost and they bred a patternless BP (I haven't seen patternless before, I may just be less worldly)

Yeah I kinda thought that too (about the first one) but I opted for the benifit of the doubt and if it isn't shopped that certainly is a sweet contrast. But the white on the tail is just a bit too white to me.

If it isn't it's sweet as all getout - but the lightened shadows would be consistent with someone whapping it with gamma correction. In any event that second one looks cast out of gold - liquid molten beauty.

maybe. But one thing i know being in my proffesion is imaging and they both are shopped. Maybe not the same snake, but both have been brushed.

Well...if these were from any Jo Bloe's website, I might wonder if they were or not...but this is VPI...one of the premier breeders. They're peers with NERD and SnakeKeeper and Clark. (Well...I'm not sure ANYone is truly a peer of NERD! :D ) But anyhow...they have a huge business with a stellar reputation...so far as I know. I've never once heard anyone complaining about being ripped off from them or not getting exactly what they paid for. And when you're dealing with tens of thousands of dollars PER animal....your reputation is everything.

I don't think those are "shopped," except maybe to try and compensate for how a photo sometimes bleeds out an animal's true colors. I've seen that patternless before, in several different photos...it's definitely not faked.

I've seen other photos of the patternless before, too, and it's a fabulous snake. I agree with Smulkin that the photos both appear to have had someone go a little overboard with gamma correction. It's easy to do if you have a dark monitor.

VPI is above reproach, as far as I'm concerned.
