I picked up a rescue today and she had this possible burn or scale rot??
I picked up a female ball python today, and along with stuck shed and eye cap, she had this on her belly, I'm not sure which it is burn or scale rot, I'm leaning towards burns just because she had a heat mat plugged in with only a little aspen substrate on the bottom floor and her hide directly over it, she had no hides on her cool side, can someone help me out and what I can do to help her heal. I've read on some places people soak in betadine solution and then put on neosporin. Can anyone confirm this works? Thank you I just want to get her back to 100% healthy.

It's a burn. I've seen it before. My vet gives silver nitrate cream for that kind of burn. I've used neosporin also but keep it on dry paper until its healed and change it out every time you reapply the meds. Btw congrats on the rescue.

I agree with Robin on this one, that is scale rot and will clear up after a few sheds. Burns usually blister up.
