Corn and Ball Python -Can they be friends?
I have a corn and BP and wondered if they would be able to play together. When I mean play, I mean handle at the same time. I love them both and I just didn't want to show favoritism. I know they wouldn't judge me if I did, but I want to be a good mother to them :P
Sounds daft, I know, but thought I'd see if anyone out there would be able to help :D

I have two BP's and I handle them at the same time. They don't really seem to notice each other at all. The only problem I can see is you having to watch a fast corn snake and mybe ignore the BP... but idk I don't own a Corn

If you mean friendship as in creating a bond with each other, no I don't think so. I have a general rule that we have one snake out at a time. As Royal Chick pointed out, corns are faster and trying to control two snakes may give the corn the ability to slip away.

I just want to know, if I had them out at the same time, that they are not likely to attack each other

I doubt they'd attack each other. I'd just handle one at a time: they won't care.

That's good. wouldn't want to be seen having favoritism for my BP (oops did I say that?) :P
Bought them both an advent calendar (guess I'll have to eat the chocs for them) :P

We only take one snake out at a time. We always wash our hands before touching the next snake also.

Re: Corn and Ball Python -Can they be friends?
I own 3 ball pythons and 5 corn snakes. I have had one of each species out at the same time, but it is not easy. I usually have someone close by to be safe. All of my corn snakes are under 2 years old and still very wiggly. Usually my ball pythons will sit in my lap while I manhandle the corn snakes, so it's usually not a problem. However, I think having one out at a time is just easier if you're not comfortable trying to jungle snakes or if you don't have a spotter in the room with you.

I've done that with my ball and the roommate's corn. The one didn't seem to acknowledge the other. Personally I like having two hands to keep up with the corn, she's still super fast.
