I am so scared over this. This could potentially ruin my future superdwarf retic project... It makes me wanna cry. I love boa constrictors. I've never done anything with anacondas, but they are still snakes so therefore I love them. God this is gonna drive me nuts! What do y'all think will happen?

Personally - I think retics (even SDs) and green anacondas will be added. I could see boas added as well. Generally, congress doesn't use a rational thought process to make decisions.

Have either of you written a letter using the link that I posted? If not, you aren't doing everything that you cna to stop this (there is more that you can do than writing a letter, but it is one thing to do). Phone calls work to. If this gets past this committee then you will get chances to do more in the future when you congressmen and/or senators are voting on it.

Today is just a hearing - I talked to the legislation department in washington for my state representative (Flores) on the committe for this bill - there are only 16 sponsors, and the legislation said that this bill at current has a 0% chance passing if it even makes it to a vote stage. They do not have the deligates needed at this time. If you are truly worried call a state represenative and talk to a committee member. When I mentioned my interest against the HR511 bill, they said "oh the snake bill" they also noted that no one had called to express concnern, mainly because right now USARK is trying to make a bigger deal than it actually is because this bill has no momentum, and after the hearing today we may know if it will gain any kind of momentum before we need to consider the additions a threat. I too was highly concerned considering I just dropped a lot of money into reticulated pythons to start working with them, but after talking to legislation departments in washington, my mind get put to ease.

    Bruce,

Thanks for the reminder. I sent the committee an e-mail this morning.

It's already over. It only took about an hour. I missed a lot of it, but overall it seemed to go very well in our favor. The video of it will be available sometime tomorrow probably.

The video should be available here within the next 24 hours:
