I keep my rats in tubs, and desperate the mommas to give birth in their own small tubs. Well I went to check on them and found that two of the water bottles with the ball bearings leaked and soaked the aspen bedding leaving the pinkies wet and clammy one died. I have got to build my permanent rack with watering system.

I actually switched to bottles due to floods caused by a watering system.. I had my racks set up with a watering system for over a year. I got tired of constantly having a flooded tub when a valve would get stuck open from build up. Then I'd take them all apart to soak and clean the parts and gaskets, but no matter how tight or loose I screwed them back together, one or two would drip. Oh it was so frustrating.

I strongly suggest ordering an extra set of valves to have on hand for when you end up with one that you just can't seem to get working right again. Especially if you have hard water. I initially loved my watering system but I just invested in the high end glass water bottles and fill them every day. It's more work but I haven't had a flooded tub or a drippy bottle in a year now.

I have to fill 2/3 of my water bottles every day and the other 1/3 every other day. I wish my smaller bin rack would hold the big water bottles. It only takes me about 10-15 minutes to fill them all, but still. It's just annoying.

Yeah I've had nozzles get dirty and stuck I guess and they end up filling up the whole tub with water. Totally sucks. I have lost 3 tubs with 1 mom and babies because of that. I've been trying the new Reptile Basics nozzles and 2 of the 3 times were with fairly young new styled nozzle. The old style has only given me problems once and they are 4 years old now.

I use the reptile basic style and have never had a single leak. I did have problems with other valves in the past getting stuck and leaking.
