Breeding size females

I've had my female lesser since may of 2010. She's currently at 1200 grams. I know females should be around 1600 grams and about 3 years old to breed but I wanted to get some opinions from all of you. Would you pair or wait?

If she´s eating right, I´ll do it. If she starts developing follicles she´ll eat like hell, and gain some weight. ;)

I would on the other hand wait :). Better be safe then sorry :)

I would go by weight more than age.

She will know if she is ready to go or not.:gj:

I would breed her, most likely as soon as you pair her she's going to want every rat you own.
If she's eating well then she'll either go or she won't go.

I would breed her as well. Some females just never get large. I would rather pair a lighter but chunky female at 1200 than a heavier skinny girl at 1700.

When looking at weights you have to consider their weight to length ratio as well. Ask yourself, 'does she have enough fat reserves? Does she have a healthy body condition to endure the whole breeding process?' I have a 1900 g female I will not pair yet. She is of 'proper weight' to some, but she is still very skinny and long. Not appropriate for breeding imo. She needs to bulk up more. And I'm currently breeding a 1350 g girl because shes a smaller shorter snake than the 1900, but has a much better body condition and reserves.

And if the snake isn't ready, it wouldn't breed.

Sounds good. I was going to pair either way but wanted some confirmation before to ease my mind. Thanks for all the input.

I would also go for it as long as she's eating.

Well it looks like we're off to good start. I put them in together and the following morning saw this...
