    This is getting ridiculous...

I wouldn't mind having to chip my larger snakes (if I had any). I agree that the owner should be accountable. They need to have the responsibility and respect to own such a snake.

The f&@k ups who let their snakes go are the ones adding fuel to push these bans forward.

This goes from snakes to dogs to any pet. When you purchase an animal it's a commitment. People are to easy to give something up just because it gets to big, to boring or it's not the next big fad anymore.
Phuck those people and phuck the people trying to take away my right to own such an awesome creature.

    :)

It's not just the people who release their animals into the wild. The animal escapes and resulting injuries have a lot to do with it - if you're going to keep a large animal (no matter what it is), you should have the appropriate enclosure.

I see that as "letting them go"

Fair point. With no fingers, they're terrible at picking locks.

I wish they would stop banning all animals they feel are too scary for the general public. This goes for everything from dogs to snakes, regulation like micro chipping and providing information on what the needed care of said animal is and even a permit to keep them fine do what you feel makes it safer just don't out right ban an animal from anyone owning it cuz some people are stupid.

I think the microchipping is a great idea. Of course, if it gets to the point that the animal needs to be scanned so someone can be held accountable, there's a good chance the damage has already been done.

I don't like bans on specific animals, but I do think regulations are necessary. I'd be really upset if my neighbor got a chimp after reading a caresheet and then it ripped my face off.

Now that I think about it, I'm not sure I'd feel super vindicated by being assured that they could track it to the owner and he's gonna be in big trouble :)

Ha speaking of animals normal people shouldn't keep I had a aunt (she was like my dads aunt not mine) who married a 100% native man after her husband died and the dude had 2 baby bear cubs that he raised in the house then once they woke up from their third or fourth winter he let them out and they ended up living on his land till the bears and the aunt and husband passed away(2008 I believe)

The big problem is where do you draw the line..?
Does it stop at large snakes, big cats, lion fish, pitbulls, apes?
I have a very hard time with anyone trying to control what another person does. With that said, how do you regulate it so everyone is safe?

Do I want to wake up to a tiger in my back yard? (well kinda) Do inhale the right to tell someone they can't own a tiger? No.

The Government should protect the people, not control the people.
