    A birthday gift for me?
So I just got home from the parents house went and checked on my rats and I found my blue girl had her first litter there's three in there.

    The little babieshttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/12/11/18/usyzemym.jpg
I removed the dad and as soon as I did she left the nest and searched and searched until I put him back then she went right back to nursing so I guess the boy stays. I'm excited haha

    Congrats!

Is only 3 babies a tiny litter? I thought rats usually had like 10-15 babies.

IMO 3 is a very small litter...maybe she is not done giving birth.
My mommy rats typically have over 15 in each litter.

It's her first litter and idk I didn't know she was prego even so not sure when she dropped them still completely blind so couldn't have been long but long enough where she could have ate some :( ha if she wants to push out a few more I won't argue.

Congrats! I would wonder if she's done too. My last new mommy had 14 first go round.

How long can it take for them to birth them all? And if they still have completely pink bodies and eyes still completely closed they can't be too old right?

Those little guys look pretty fresh. Not sure how long it takes them, my girls usually do it during the day while I'm at work.
When was the last time you checked on your rats, how long has it been?

Thursday morning, I went up to my parents house for my birthday and hunting randomly decided to come back home today instead of tomorrow and poof they were in there with momma sitting on them nursing them. My worry would be it was a big litter and one of them ate a bunch of them but she seems to be doing good and daddy (shoes) isn't being mean towards them he's using the mt dew box to sleep in like they used to always do and staying away from the nest. I had hamsters when I was little and they had babies and the dad killed the whole litter after chewing through a divider (can't remember what it was it was wood of some kind) but he had turned super angry soon as the litter was born.

Hmm, well, those guys could be anywhere from Thursday to today. Even though they grow super fast, they stay little pink worms for awhile. My daddy's do fine in with the babies. It's cute when they get older, they snuggle with him.
