    It looks like a scale fell out, but also looks like some lind of lump is there, others have had this same experience, chime in!

    It looks like like a rub spot, I had some of my snakes get a simular spot from rubbing thier heads on the top of the containers. A smooth lid cured it.

    Jeanus got it right you see this all the time in adult male retics that are pushing during breeding season. He/She is probably doing so out of hunger/thirst or something about the condition/climate of the cage is off.
