Finally! Produced my own Blue Dumbo Self!
Well I am excited about this and wanted to brag a little. I know some of the other rat fans here will rejoice with me!

I started with Blue hooded and bareback. Bred them until I got a variegated blue dumbo female. Bred her to my Siamese male and held back a black male and female berkshire.

Well, I finally got a male and female SELF blue dumbo! Also, I got a dumbo blue rex (more likely recessive hairless as no parents are rex, time will tell) possibly self as the colors are too light to see.

I was NOT expecting that curly haired little thing! Now to just wait for blue dumbo siamese.

I have been working on this project for a year now and I finally got the color I was after. My next step is to breed the self blue dumbo to my bin that are great mothers as the blues are a little wishy washy on their childcare. That same great mother group is also the hardiest rats I have, so it will be a good step.

    Pictures to come tonight!

    And pictures.

I had to take a couple with Kira. She loves the babies and the rats even if they don't like her. There were so many pictures of her nose in the picture or a large hulking shadow, but I got a few good ones.

Parents were black standard coat berkshire het Siamese, Blue, and Dumbo

Non litter mate double rex? recessive hairless? I am beginning to think double rex. More breeding from it's parents will tell, but they are very naked.
