    Trading Snakes. Question
I know a lot of people trade snakes though the mail. I was wondering what the safest way to do this is? after you found an animal and someone willing to trade how do you go about doing this safely? references? Is there a safe way to make trades or is that risk just always there that someone wont ship? any info would help a lot! thanks!

I just received a trade today. We both came to an agreement to ship on the same date. Both him and I had plenty of positive feedback on Fauna Classifieds so there was no real worry. If someone offered to trade with me and had little to no feedback, I would pass. In some cases where one person has a lot of feedback and the other does not. The person with no feedback will ship out first, only upon arrival and inspection of the package by the person with a lot of feedback will he/she ship out.

They ship first no questions. If they dont want to ship first then no deal

Ive always thought about starting a side thing where I could charge a small fee and both parties would ship their snakes to me, I would then turn around and ship to both parties once both snakes were here. Of course this would be after I build up more positive feedback, but then there would be hitches such as increased shipping costs etc etc. But was just a thought.

Great idea! You should pursue this.
On a side note, I live in Tricities. I was in Vancouver yesterday...beautiful area!

The person initiating the trade HAS to ship first. when you get the snake and it's alive and healthy, then you ship your end of the deal. Its the only way to not get burned.

I think a lot of this applies to all trades online. If you're wanting to make a deal, you better ship first or the other person will back out; they should anyway. Also, if you aren't that well known, don't expect people to be so willing, keep plugging yourself away at what you want and sooner or later someone will take a chance because they want what you have and have what you want.

I've so far completed one trade through online, and have two more lining up. People just have given me a chance despite having no history. However, I've been lucky enough to want from people with good BOIs so I feel comfortable shipping first and have done so already. It's a little nerve racking, but once you get the tracking number you feel a sigh of relief and then anxiously await the package. :)
