Eating from the wrong end (pics) :)
Our Sweet Medusa isn't the brightest of snakes... but we still lover her.

She just went through another beautiful shed. i LOVE that she poops & sheds in her moss hide (which is a little plastic fish "tank")- she's trained like a cat.
I just hope she keeps that up, because it makes clean up much easier!

Tonight she was hungry, because she usually skips a meal during shed process.
She struck right away, but often seems a little confused on which end to eat from. Usually she figures it out,
but some times takes her a little longer then expected. So I decided to take advantage
and snap a few pics :)

Look real close & you can see a little snake saliva lol

I think she was stopping to smile for the camera in this one. :P

BTW, my brother in law was over and he wouldn't come watch her eat. (first time hes been here on a feeding day)
Funny how squeamish people can be. lol

for some reason even mine too during his first feed he struck from the back. But I noticed that snakes have enough "brains" to know they have to eat head-first.
    :)

    :)

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't

I watched our 7 year old 2500 gram clown male eat a large weanling backwards last week, thought that's odd.
Then across the room where the 28qt rack is I hear squealing and thump thump thump.
The queenbee female has a small weanling in her mouth backwards and still very much alive.
She ended up spitting it out and going back to her cave, lol.

I have a male Mojo that 50% of the time will eat his backwards but the worst is my spider he will strike the head then work his way down to the tail and start eating there every time.

Hey, whatever works for them right? As long as it gets down, I don't care if they start at the shoulder.

Well, now I dont feel so bad about Medusa LOL She has done it tail first, but usually she will take her time to figure out where the head is. Many times it's under the fat part of her body and that seems to puzzle her even more. :confusd:
