First a quick trip outside to work up an appetite. The clouds were playing havoc with the sunlight, but this one turned out nice:

The cricket said "Nnnoooooo!"...but Shaggy said "YES!!"

    The Mighty Cricket Hunter!
He's smiling in that second picture! That's awesome (of course he isn't smiling but it sure looks like he is)

This might sound weird, but he has the cutest expression on his face.

Hehe...thanks guys! The expression in that picture might be amplified by the fact that he's sitting on his "butt" with his back legs splayed out. He cracks me up, he's so cute!

And it's hard to believe that it's the same lizard in the first two pictures, taken just a few minutes apart. He turns all bright and peachy when hunting his crix!

Very nice looking little guy - looks quite active. How do they do out of the cage during handling? Prone to just haulin butt in any given direction or pretty complacent?

Very complacent. I usually set him on my shoulder while I'm cleaning out his cage each day. He climbed up into my hair once, but most of the time is very content to just stay put. He's fairly quiet most of the time...unless there are crickets around...or if he THINKS there are crickets around. LOL Then he just gets nuts! You shoulda seen him go after a blowing leaf in the backyard. Too funny!

Of course you do Paul!

Judy, I also love his expression in the second one. Beardies have such expressive faces, unlike a lot of lizards. I'll bet he enjoyed being out in the yard. :)

LOL...he wasn't too sure about that whole outside thing. But it was funny watching him chase after the blowing leaf. I was pretty nervous about the whole thing too....scared he was make a mad dash for someplace that I couldn't find/reach him.
