    Rotating males schedule
Well I was planning to do the 3 days on 3 days off thing, each time to a different female.

I found that after I put the male with the first female the first night, the next day, they locked. Then on the second day, there was no more copulation.

So I am thinking, if there is no more copulation seen, should I move the male onto the next female even though 3 days is not up?

Instead of 3 on 3 off, perhaps I can do 1-2 days with each female, 2 females in a row, so 2-4 on, and then give 3 off?

Each time you introduce a male to a female, you expect him to breed her only once, right? Or leave them for 3 days even though they locked already?

If they locked I take him out, for a couple of days and then to the next lady.

If you see a definite lock, you can take the male out and give him his 3 days of rest and then move him onto the next female. This past season (2011-2012) I just stuck with a 3 days in, 4 days out rotation to keep everything simple. It really helped me, but then I only had a maximum of 4 females per male, so I could go one female a week and make sure that each female got paired with their male once a month. It was just something simple and easy to keep track of in MS Excel (for each male, I had 3 columns, the first was for the female he was paired with, the second was for the date he was placed in her tub, and the third was for the date he was taken out of her tub). With this system I was able to keep track of all my pairngs quite well. Also, since I work 10 hour days, I did not see most of my locks, that is why I left the male in for the full 3 days.
