    Pastel always seeking cool side
    Hey guys!

Let me first say thank you for all of you great people that have gotten me involved in this new hobby of mine. got my first normal boy 2 months or so ago and already added a second.

So this is the story, I went to repticon in columbia about a week ago and while there I found a pretty "imo" little pastel girl and got her for 60$. Well this was great in my mind!!! well after getting her home I have her in an RBI enclosure and my temps are steady 78 cool 88-90 hot, with humidity around the 45ish mark atm...working on improving that! But her behavior is just weird to me compared to my normal boy...he does what I would expect and doesn't explore "as much" but plays games and looks at me and stays typically in his warm hide. she on the other hand stays off the heat like a bad habit...I always find her in the far back corner or stretched out against the glass or under the cold hide. I wondered if my medium RBI hides may be too big but when I move her or touch her she is cool to the touch where my normal looooooves staying warm lol...just a newer owner that is worried about his snakes. my normal is healthy and crazy and strong etc...I know he came from a great source...I'm worrying about my little pastel girl cause I don't know her history too well cause the guy had taken her on a trade and had no idea what she was "ball python wise" let alone where she came from. Any help is appreciated guys, just want to make sure there isn't something I should be doing. Pics incoming once I get back home.

Maybe the hot side is too hot. My snake did not bother going to the warm side until I lowered it to 86-87 which is what the breeder told me to do :)

^^^What barbie.dragon said, 90 is too hot for an ambient temp on the warm side, try dropping the ambient temp to 86-87

I like to use hides that they can barely fit into or that they can feel at least 3 sides when they are in it.
I'm not great with advise on tanks, I don't keep tanks and haven't in years.

Basically the temps you are trying to maintain are:

    77-78 cool end ambient
    86-87 warm end ambient
    90-92 hot spot temp

They should feel cool to the touch if you haven't been outside in the cold. I find my hand temperature to be around 86-88 when I come back from school and stuff. And my snake is usually around 86 degrees so she's "cold" compared to my body temp. I love my temp gun. I measure the temperature of random things everyday.
