    How to break a slidelock?
    I,ve got theese normal slidelocks on my terrarium from my previous owner. Offertunately he lost the key. Now I wonder.

    How to break it?

    Does anyone know a neat trick?

    I'd call a locksmith. They have all kinds of nifty tools to help break into things like that.

    I will try NOT to spend 100 dollars on a locksmith.

    Cut it. They are cheap (15$) just cut it off. Cut the strap before the lock with a fine cutting wheel and a drill or dremmel. I am guessing it is locked and installed?

    If they are on the terrarium, just just taking the glass out. On PVC cage you can probably still get the glass out by lifting up an pulling the bottom out. With the lock on.

    x2 this is really your only option short of calling a locksmith (or finding the key)

    You might buy a replacement lock fist and try the key that comes with that one. I have three locks exactly the same as yours (same or very similar anyway) and of the three two are keyed alike just by fluke I suspect there is not that many key combinations.

    If you have a drill you can drill through the lock to breakaway the tumblers
