Good Guy Canada!!! Sending hydro workers to New York
    Like the title says,

Canada has sent out a crew of over 150 Hydro One workers from Ontario to New York and other North East States to help out with getting the power back online.

    I love my country!!!

hope everyone without power is doing ok!

Hopefully they don't let them drive while they are here! But thank you neighbors to the North!

There has been a long history of aid back and forth. my grandparents remember Boston sending tons of aid workers after the Halifax explosion. In the 30's (I don't remember what year it was...) one of the Boston Christmas trees can from the community they lived in. Even today there is a ceremony for the tree cutting, and shipping it to Boston in remembrance and thanks for the great service done for the city I live in. This years tree cutting is in Jordan Bay Shelburne County on Nov 13 (1030 am) Sadly a work day for me and too far to duck out to. Thank You people of Boston.

    pictures from last year...

I was just reminded by my girlfriend (her brother was on the HMCS Athabaskan that went as part of katrina relief efforts) that during most of the big disasters Canada has sent aid of one sort or another. Frank McKenna (ambassador to USA during Katrina) said it best after Katrina "you are our friends and together we are family – you do not suffer alone."
