Best feed for mice

I am stuck with a pet mouse because my snake refused to eat. What is the best food to feed this little guy? I want to feed it a high quality food not the junk you get at the pet stores. I do plan on feeding this mouse off so I only want it to eat the best type of food.

Mazuri or Harlan lab blocks are best, but probably not worth buying since its for a single temporary mouse. Maybe find a local member who breeds rodents to supply you with a week or two worth of block.

But if you can't do that, then I say go with a mixed diet of seeds, grain, oats, cooked pasta noodles, boiled egg and the occasional fruit/veggies. Rodents are mainly grain feeders, so don't over feed the fruits and veggies. Too much is not good for them.

Oxbow, it's available in pet stores in small quantities and they make decent quality food. Seeds, nuts, bread, pasta are actually all pretty awful for mice...useless fillers that are either way too high in fat content or completely lacking in nutrition. Dry oatmeal is fine too.

Oxbow shouldn't be fed as a main diet. It can be given in addition to a high quality well balanced feed.
There have been a significant number of reported cases of mice dying or failing to thrive when fed primarily on Oxbow.

Seeds, nuts, and pasta shouldn't consist of the entire diet. Everything I said should be fed as a mix in order to gain a balanced diet if a proper lab block cannot be used.
If bread is given, it should be whole grain. And it really depends on the seeds, nuts, or pasta.
There are good seeds and bad seeds. I.E. Sunflower seeds should only be given as an occasional treat. Too much fat as mentioned.

Flax seed, horse sweet feed, sugarfree cereal, millet, and wheat pasta are examples of good foods. But Like I mentioned, it has to be part of a mixed diet and not given alone.
And yes. Oatmeal is good.
