Look at how she's grown! And Monty Joe is such a handsome fella, with that reduced pattern at his tail end.

i Haven't taken mine out yet, is it safe for them to be outside? what is the risk of catching parasites from being out there? or mites?
  • 04-07-2004, 01:15 PM
There is almost no risk of them catching anything while being outside. Reptile mites are not native to the US so we don't have to worry about that. As long as conditions are favorable, its pretty safe.

Cool pictures! It's beautiful out here today and I would love to take Caesar and Shaggy out for some romping and pictures...but I'm terrified they might dart away and end up someplace where I can't catch them like down a drain or into the basement window-wells or something.

Will, I was cautious about it. When we put them down I made sure Monty Joe was upwind from sprocket. This is the closest that they have been to each other. They are housed in seperate rooms also.

David....What about tick's? This area is well known for ticks. They are not out yet, but I expect they will be soon.

I agree, Will. That is the one and only reason we don't have a red-tail right now. Boas are beautiful animals (as Iron's pictures prove - very nice, Iron), but the thought of them killing off my pythons is just too scary.

Actually the boa in those pics is Sprocket... my boa :) And thanks btw. We had them out for about 10 minutes in 70+ degree sunny weather, and a gentle breeze so anyone paranoid about IBD in those conditions is just to jumpy.

    Later all
