I hate finicky eaters lol

I have a boy who won't eat rats EVERY time, and I ask why even bother eating a rat when your just gone eat a mouse again?!?! Lol

Better than a female mouser they are a royal pain!

They like to keep us on our toes and remind us who's boss.

Tell me about it, my other snakes eat w/e I put in lol, they actually like to get all fat and stuff but not him or his gf....

Yeah, I have a Black Butter female that is a real pain. Everyone else eats rats and she has to be the special one and only ear mice. I think it is her way of controlling the situation.

I'm struggling with the same thing. :mad:
I only have one BP, a ~4 month old male Pastel.
Tried to switch him to FT rat pups 4 times now. No go.
Warmed him up, scented him with dirty bedding from mice, etc. My snake just stares at it and then lays next it.

He will take pre-killed mice though.

Anything else to be done here?
I ordered 25 frozen rat pups ~2 months ago that are just sitting in my freezer, and I'm still running out to buy mice weekly. At this point, he's big enough to be eating larger prey than the rat pups and I still have 20+ in the freezer. Grr.

Sorry OP. This isn't meant to be a threadjack. Happy to hear what others have done to convert finicky eaters.
