I just absolutely could not resist these little darlings. Today I picked up 4 Mallard ducklings, all of which are only a day or so old. Fortunately our new facility includes a couple of outdoor ponds, so when these little balls of fluffy sweetness grow up, they'll be in an environment that can accommodate them. For those unfamiliar, ducks are extremely messy animals as subadults/adults, which is a huge reason all the "impulse buy" ducklings around Easter time don't always fare so well later in life, once it's discovered that their "output" is frequent & smelly.

Oh that is just TOO cute! :D

Will they stay on the property after you've raised them? Or will they migrate? (Do mallards migrate?)

    Cute little ducklings Kara.

My brother use to have a male mallard named Harry. The thing thought it was one of the family. It would follow him all over the yard when he mowed and go on walk's with him and the dog's. If they were outside, he was there with them. He would have to pen him up when they left the house for a distance to keep him from following them. They make very good pet's, if that is the intintion, except for the land mines that they leave behind.
