I have squared some larger balls since I since I built my rack and I don't think there is enough room in these 28 qt. Tubs for hide water bowl and snake. Do all of you use hides in a rack system?

I only use hides for a couple picky girls.

Mine all have hides. They do use them too.

I give hides to some snakes, but not others. My bigger snakes feed fine without them, and will use the paper as a hide if they feel like it. I give hides to all my snakes under 1000g

We use no hides in tubs unless a smaller snake is a picky eater.
As sub adults ours have all lost their hides and do just fine.

28qt tubs are good for 2000 grams and under, 1500 grams or under in my collection, how large are these snakes?

Because I have an open rack system, I keep hides in all my tubs. My snakes seem to be doing just fine without them. I even have two who will ignore their hides and hide under the newspaper. You can always try no hide and if they go off feed, try and add a hide for them and see if that improves their behavior. If they don't go off feed, there's no need to add in hides.
