Leaving town, and she has an RI

I'm flying out at noon today. This morning I took out my CH ghost and let her ride around on my shoulders. About 15 minutes in, she started flinging drool around. Mouth check looked okay, but she was whistling when I dumped her in a 20 gallon tank.

Yes, I have a vet appt. in 30 minutes. But then I'm gone until Sunday. The timing could be better.

She was in the rack. What are the odds she's given this to the other females in the rack?

Acted totally healthy at the vet, of course.

Diagnosis: fecal smear flagellates & some intestinal bacteria. No obvious sign of RI upon inspection. Will leave in quarantine with extra heat lamp over warm side over weekend, begin treating for flagellates Sunday evening when I return. If she show additional signs of RI on Sunday/Monday, we'll do a throat wash next week and try to get a culture.

Sounds like the snake drank water before being handled.
Over the years I've had a number of snakes drool/dribble water when being handled.
It seems to be something they do occasionally after drinking water, sort of like a regurge of food but water.

Just curious, If you thought it was an RI why didn't the vet just do a culture to begin with instead of racking up a larger bill on other tests?
