    No Power, using Hand warmers.
I have no power. I live on the 12th floor so my ambient temp is still 71 degrees.

I bought a bunch of hand warmers at Home Depot.

I placed a bunch in the racks (outside tubs) but I have 1 snake in a tank.

I dropped the hand warmer in the tank and left for work.

Then I get a call saying the snake was trying to eat the hand warmer.

I can't call her a liar, but it sounds bogus.

Anyone have a snake try to eat a heat source?

Hand warmers get VERY hot!! I don't know about eating it but I would place it into a container like a tupperware or like to keep the snake from directly contacting the warmer.

I wouldn't put the hand warmer in the tank at all personally. They get way too hot and could potentially burn your snake, but they also deplete the oxygen levels in the enclosure. I'm not sure how effective putting it in a tupperware would be. I would personally just put it under the tank.
