need some help

i just noticed today that rexs eyes r cloudy. wut can i do to increase humidity in my tank and when, if i should, should i start soaking him?

What is the humidity in his tank now, he may just fine (depending on huimidity levels).

29gal tank, astroturf, 2 heat lamps, only 1 is on tho, hide on each end, bamboo stick goin diagnolly thru tha tank, water bowl is on cooler end, screen top, half is covered with a damp towel (would paper towel work better?)

I found that contact paper is a great way to cover a screen top to retain humidity. When I used towels to cover the screen lids, they always dried out overnight. I'd recommend using contact paper and taping it down securely to trap that humidity in!

Yes...get the screen covered with contact paper or duct-tape except just a bit open for some ventilation and/or a light. You can put the waterbowl under your heatsource, but you'll have to check it daily to make sure it doesn't dry out. Mist the cage with a clean squirt bottle filled with clean water.

If none of this helps, or you need the humidity raised right now but can't get that screen covered for some reason, then you can also provide a humid hide for the snake to retreat to. Put a damp sponge inside a hide on the warm side of the tank.

Hopefully these things will help you to have a smooth shed without having to resort to soaking.

my humidity has raised a fair deal. its at 65% now im keepn a damp towel on top, along with a water bowl under each light on each side of the tank

THis is a good thing Rex but if you have heated lighting on both sides of the tank, be certain that his cool side does not get too warm! It is still important for your little man to have a good variety of temps to work with!

Have you thought about misting? I have a moist towel on top with a similar humidity level when I don't mist. I misted a couple of times a day once I saw Ellis' eyes get cloudy, and the shed went well.

Interestingly, my humidity level has been much higher with a wet towel than plastic.
