will he make it to breeding size

do you guys think he will make it to breeding size later in the season.cause i would really like to pair him up to a normal that i think might be het pied

Its possible but thats alot of weight to put on him i would hold off till spring.

I doubt it very much. They CAN go younger sometimes but generally they have two winters under their belt and 500 grams. It's possible but I wouldn't hold your breath.

I have each year successfully bred 6-7 month old 400-500 gram males.

Nobody can tell you that :)

Some people have breed 250-350 gram males successfully. It's just a nice precaution to wait until 500 grams or 1 year.
But as long as he has a nice weight and body condition and is producing sperm plugs, then you can technically breed at a lower weight.

Just bc you get him to a certain weight, doesnt mean he'll breed for you. He could be 500grams, it doesnt mean hes gunna know what to do lol.

ok thx everyone.i talked to one of my breeder friends and he will be using a yellowbelly to breed my normal.the one that has the het pied markers.if she lays then im keeping all my share of babies until i can see if the normal is het pied
