First shed...clear?
Did a show this weekend, probably having a blonde moment. But is it unusual for a really dark baby to have a shed (the first) that is completely clear? It looks like my ghosts shed. Not one hint of pattern on it.
Just wondering.

I've only had one clutch but they all had patterns on their first sheds.

Thanks guys! I'm not sure what's up with the lil babe.
My boyfriend actually just showed me that there is in fact SOME pigment on the shed, but it is very very faint. You cannot see it in light, but only in shadows. But either way, with being how dark she is I was surprised to see a clear (or now, almost-clear) shed, but also assumed it probably just happens sometimes, especially with their first.
Either way, she's an interesting one. She's a normal with a clear belly (no check marks, really. She also has some odd, almost cinnamon-like markings. She's got yellow blotches on her belly as well. I thought for sure the yellow spots would shed off, but they haven't. They have been there since the snake hatched.
Here are some photos I took before the first shed:

And this photo was taken last night, with my iPhone. Will try and get better ones once it has digested.

Yeah I think I just never really paid attention. All our mojaves and spiders shed so distinctively, I never really thought about it.

Also for what it's worth, here's the Momma.
The baby in this thread was an only child...lol

Well since I still have this baby I might as well update!
She was a stubborn feeder for a couple of months but now, BANG she hits the rat and eats it every time!
Here are some updated pics. These are from my cell phone though, so the colors aren't completely accurate. She is a very deep black, with a light, but non-shimmery golden color. Some of the pics make her look blue because of her iridescence, but she's just black as night.

She is really pretty!! I can't offer any input on the shed thing... just wanted to say she's super pretty! :)

The orange on her tail is a hint of ringer. Other than that, she looks normal, not hypo... if she sheds clear as she gets older, I'm totally interested to hear about it.

You know since I posted this...I haven't actually paid attention to her sheds. To be honest I didn't expect to have her around this long. Toying with the idea of keeping her, I kind of like her pattern, but then again do I really need another normal female? Decisions!
As for the shed I have a feeling you guys were right in the beginning and they have probably got pigment on them now, but I'll have to make note to keep an eye on it.
And no I'm definitely not thinking hypo, she is the blackest of black!
I will try to remember to update when she sheds again.
