    Cooking Eco-Earth?
I purchase the brick form of eco-earth to save money. During the warm season I use a large tub lid and put it outside to sun bathe (takes a few hours but hey the sun doesn't cost any money). Well it is getting to cold and rainy to do that anymore, so I am looking for other ways.

I read on a forum somewhere that you can put eco-earth in the oven at x-degrees for y-amount of time. I am wondering if anyone has tried that? Obviously the oven would be able to warm it up, thus dry it out. But I am afraid of the eco-earth catching fire http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/images/smilies/uhh.gif

I am right now rigging up my heat lamp (that was in storage) and attempting to dry it that way. I could just let it air dry but that takes forever.

Are there any other ways to dry it out?

We'll bake the bricks at 200 for 2-3 hours. With the loose stuff we put it into some cheap cake pans, insert a probe into the middle and bake until it holds 200 for 90 minutes to 2hours.

thanks I will have to get some cheap cake pans, that makes it so much easier (at least for the winter/rainy days). I have to get caught up so I won't have to make the brick the day before cleaning (<<< not a good way to go about it without baking or having a really hot day to help you out)

Oven works well, I take out the oven wracks an use a few large non stick cooking pots
