    Bedding and Feed?
So now that I've decided on a rack for breeding rats, what do you all suggest for bedding and feed for them?

Food will depend on what you have available locally Mazuri 6F,Kent food.

Bedding I recommend pine pellets (very absorbent which help control the smell) and pine shaving for females with babies under 2 weeks of age (nesting material)

Awesome, I was thinking about mazuri and wood shavings, just wanted some other opinions.

We use pine pellets with a thin layer of kiln dried pine over it for our breeders and growouts and then just the pine shavings for maturnity tubs.
Like Deborah said food can/will vary depending on where you are located.
We use Star Milling and really like it, plus it is quite a bit cheaper for us compared to Mazuri.

So do you that breed suggest that I just get a large number of young males and females and start all at once or start with a 1.4 and then a few weeks later buy 0.4 to populate the second tub and a few weeks later again to do the last tub?
