    What kind of snake is this
    A friend of mine sent me a picture of a snake they saw in the woods in Texas. I'm not sure what it is. Can anyone ID it for me.

    When I lived in TX my neighbors called them bull snakes and said not to kill them because they kept rattlers away. But they could have been pulling my leg.....

    Thanks everyone. :) I know that will make my friend feel better. They freaked out when they saw the snake, snapped a picture and ran, Lol:D

    Looks like a rat to me as well. Glad they took the picture and ran a lot of people would have killed it out of fear.
