    Best thermostat for the price?
I currently have my hatchling in an aquarium with an infrared heat lamp so he's good for now, but when he outgrows that I'm probably going to switch to a sterilite tub with an under tank heater. So, what are some thermostats you'd recommend that aren't too expensive but reliable? I'd prefer not to go over $70 but if I will if I have to.

Save up for a Herpstat. 100 bucks, they are the best.

I would go with the Vivarium Electronics VE-100 for around $100 or for only $40 more get the VE 300. I have had other brands, but definitely prefer the Vivarium line of thermostats.

The Herpstat Intro, imo. Reliability of a Herpstat with a 99 dollar price tag.
Currently what im using and I believe its the best bang for your buck. I looked into a lot of thermostats and none seemed to compare at that price range.

Herpstat would be the best. My herpstat 2 is so amazing.

Herpstats are hands down the best value they have the best safety features and the most features for the price. all you need to do is compare features, it is very quickly obvious where the best bang for the buck is.

    herpstat 2
i would have to say the herpstat 2 is the best for your dollar because of the features and if you need to regulate a heat pad and a radiant heat panel on one enclosure you are covered or you could regulate two heat pads on two enclosures.

Imo, a thermostat is no place to cut corners. Get yourself a Herpstat, you won't be sorry.

I have been comparing features and plan on going with herpstat 1s. I really like the safety feature that if the probe stops reading or malfunctions then the heat is cutoff, so you may have a cold snake until you find out but hopefully no fires!
