    Paul,

Don't let your anxiety undermine your confidence. How many e-mails did we exchange before we finally settled on the right snake for you? How many questions did you ask? How many times did you read the "bloodrant" paper? This is certainly not something you're going into blind. You did your homework. You were very straightforward and honest with me regarding your current experience level and your desire to branch out and try a snake that will help you grow as a herpetoculturist, one that will simultaneously challenge & reward you. You've had his enclosure set up & stabilized for how long now? Trust me...there are all too many people who impulse buy animals without giving the situation one iota of the thought & preparation you've put into this.

Additionally (and please understand that I don't say this to be condescending), while you are to some extent still a fledgling keeper, if I wasn't comfortable sending you this animal, you know I'd make you wait. I think that you've shown great attention to detail and willingness to learn, and I really feel that you will do well with this snake as you continue to learn & grow as a keeper. Learning is something we ALL do, every single day - that is one of the biggest joys of this hobby, and while I'm vastly biased you know I think STP's are great specimens for really understanding snake behavior.

Besides...you know if anything comes up, I'm only a phone call away. ;)

Take heart, stay motivated, keep an open mind...and until tomorrow morning, may visions of Sumatran short-tail pythons slither through your head.

Note to self.... if I ever buy my dream Braz. Rainbow BCI - get it from KLG :) (I'm planning on it anyways haha) but not for at least a year... that is the rule I made for myself.

I'm touched. Paul, what a great snake-daddy, and Kara, what great customer service, and both of you, concern for the animals.
