I was just wondering... I am not good with wires at all but I think there must be a way to extend probe wires. Can anyone good with wires help me out? Is there any way I could put a longer wire on my probe that comes from my digital display without comprimising the temp reading function? I work with guitar cables a lot and stuff like that and you can always make longer guitar cables so it seems logical that you could make a longer temp probe wire - Any replies would be greatly appreciated!

You can pull that one off with similarly gauged speaker wire - just be extra sure you don't cross em - which is very easy to do with the probe wire since it is just black-housed and unmarked.

If you do it DO yank out the battery first or the reconnecting can seriously maim your unit.

I would use any regular copper wire since its a good conductor.
