Where to get a good under the heater tank and mite questions!
Hi guys I have a ball python with a clear tank and I an having to leave both of the day and night lights on to keep his teperature at a minimum of 80 degrees. I want to get an under the tank heater for him. I also think that he is getting mites but im not sure so i want to know if i should use my mite spray regardless, the first snake i had had mites and the mite repellant got there too late unfortunatly he passed away within the first week of owning him. :( any more advice will be welcome unfortunatly i cant afford a new tank so an uth will have to do.

    The Serpent Merchant
UTH's do not increase the air temperature inside the tank, so if the cage is in a cold room (under 75 degrees F) a heat lamp will be necessary as well as the UTH. UTH's simply heat the floor of the cage.

UTH's MUST be regulated by a thermostat, otherwise they can and will get hot enough to kill your snake.

Check out this thread, it goes over UTH's and cage heating in detail.

It takes a significant mite infestation to kill a snake, what did you do after the snake died to get rid of them all?

I would treat for mites. What mite spray do you have?

This stuff is the best, but you must follow the directions otherwise it could kill your snake.
