Ease of care, sweet paint jobs, being able to breed them and make hot babies, having a hobby that could potentially pay for itself, the genetics, and all the ball jokes i get to make. :D
Oh and even though theyre pets first and i treat them as such, i see my snakes as an investment as well .

Their normally mellow demeanor, small yet sturdy size, paint jobs. And after deciding it was the snake for me, investment opportunities / experience with breeding.

I got a ball over anyother snake because of their temperment, ease of care, and just how mellow they are. Also there size.

I became attracted to BPs while I was looking for a good apartment pet in college. They seemed like the perfect beginner snake because of their size and temperments. The more I looked at pictures of them the more I started to think they have the cutest faces. It wasn't until I got my first morph that I became addicted though. For 5 months I only had one snake and since Feb 2011 I have gone from 2 to over 30. T_T

My daughter knew that I used to own snakes and she loves them. She asked me to buy her a book on snakes and crocodiles and would ask me to read it to her at bedtime and asking for her own snake. I eventually had some extra money so I suprised her with a ball python because they are easy to care for, don't get too big (my daughter is almost 5 so that was important) and they are not known to be too nippy. She loves her pet and wants to take him out to read every night and is disappointed for the 2-3 nights that we don't take her out after feeding. I figured, I should have a snake of my own as well so I ordered a BCC from biggappleherp :) and now we have two. Soon to be 3 when I find a good onyx BP for a later breeding project for my daughter.

My girlfriend decided that she wanted to get a pet snake so I went on the internet and did some research. I came across Ball Pythons and recognized them. I had seen them at the zoo and always found them fascinating. I really didn't like corn snakes and didn't want anything that was considered aggressive. At that point I only knew of normals and Albinos... and I knew that I wanted both. Then I found this site and learned of all of the 100's of morphs. About a year later I actually joined the site lol.
