Tank Size
Bellatrix has outgrown her current vivarium, which is 22" long. It is no longer big enough to accommodate two hides big enough for her. However, if we upgrade her to a 36" tank, will that be big enough to last her for quite a while or should we go straight to a 45"? The one I'm thinking of getting is this:

Which looks like it could be a good compromise between a tub and something we can still see into, but I don't know if the largest size will still be too small.

The 36 inch tank should be enough to last her entire life. The tank you at looking at is the 36 by 15 tank, right?
-
Yes, the tank is a 36 (length) x 15 (deep) x 8 inches (height).

If you really intend to put her in a larger tank later on anyway, it's fine to go ahead and buy it now. It's really only hatchlings that get freaked out by larger tanks. Yearlings on up are happy to roam around a huge tank at night, as long as you provide adequate hides and cover for them disappear into during the day. Though you might want to err on the side of smaller hides for now, so she feels secure during the transition.

Re: Tank Size
Go ahead and upgrade. If you feel like you are giving your snake too much space then fill it with hides, trees, and greenery. This is my 20 gallon long. It contains one BP almost 3 months old. Notice there actually isn't much space to lay around. There are hides and shadows all over. My girl loves it. She climbs and roams all night in here.

Thanks! I'm really proud of it. It'll be a bittersweet day when I acquire a rack system and break this down into a leopard gecko terrarium. It's just so pretty!
