juvenile ball python feeding

I just fed my python last thursday. Should i feed him toda(5 days) until hes eating big mice or feed him this thursday?

If it is real young you could do five days but if it's several months I would start weekly.
Also
If your feeding it smaller meals five days would be fine but if your going with a good size feeder for your snakes size I would do weekly.

If you know your snakes weight and tell us what size mouse you are feeding I could answer you better, I just answered the best I could with what I had. As with many things snake related the answer is"it depends" on the variables.

Many people feed young bps on a 5 day schedule. How big is your snake, and what size mice are you feeding?

Yeah i get what you mean. UNFORTUNATELY i do not have a scale to weigh my buddy. The closest description i can give of him is about a foot long maybe foot and a half. (Haven't handled him since i haven't got a second feeding in him yet) and about the thickness of a quarter, possibly bigger. The mouse i last fed him was about the size of a half dollar coin but the first week i had him he didnt eat and i dont know when the pet shop fed before that. Took no problem for him to get it down after 5-7 misses.

As a rule of thumb for prey size, you can do 10-15% of your snakes weight, or prey the same size around as the largest part of your snake.

You could do either schedule but if your having problems getting it to eat everyone you may do weekly so you don't stress it trying to make it feed more than it wants to. Again"it depends". Their is really no right or certain answer for you.

If the snake eats every five days, great. If it eats every seven, great. The important thing is that it's eating.
