male pastel doesn't want to breed
I have a male pastel over 2k grams and he doesn't want to breed. Every time i try putting him with a female he starts flailing his body against the lid and then he tries to smash all the females. He also isn't eating and had refused food the last five or six feedings. Also, all the females have been popped by me and two other people, so they are females lol. Any suggestions on what might be the problem?

Sounds like two males. How big are the females you are popping? Adults are harder to pop and can hold there stuff in place. Get someone to probe them for you.

    Maybe he's gay?

Edit: if he is, be sure to explain to him that you still love him and will accept him for who he is.

From what I have heard, that sounds like what happens when two males are put together. I would double check the sexes.

Definitely sounds like 2 males to me. This is how I found out my pastel was a male. Were your "females" popped as babies, or adults?

One of the females has been probed and both have locked with another male. One is almost 1700 and the other is 1600 in weight. Any other suggestions as to what the problem could be?

the only other thing I can think of is if both are female. But like everyone else said, it really sounds like two males.

If the other snake isn't "fighting" back I would have a hard time believing they are both males. When I first started putting my male mojave in with my normal female (she is indeed a lady, probed by two different people) he initially was flailing around much like he was trying to escape, but also kinda all over the female.

I left the two of them alone and he eventually calmed down. My male is eating weekly and is about 900g though.

Males can lock with each other too. Just bringing that up to attention.

Ok, so i put a proven breeder female with him yesterday and still the same thing happens. He starts hissing, bucks his back up, and pushes the female either up against the lid or pins her against the ground. Any ideas now on what might be going on? I'm baffled lol. I wish he would breed because he is a nice pastel.
