Awesome room heater!!

Hey everyone, I figured I would post about a little heater I picked up. I was in home depot a couple weeks back picking up a few things when I seen this on the shelf.

It's a 1500watt room heater with built in digital thermostat. I have been using it for the past two weeks with great results. It brought my room up from 77degrees to 81 degrees in less than 20mins. My snake room is 11'x14', and I could only maintain 77 without a heater.
The digital thermostat is actually very accurate. I have my room temps checked with 4 separate thermometers and they all read the same as the heater thermostat.

The best part about it was the price..39.99$. I figure it saved me the cost of a rancho thermostat.
I couldn't be happier with the heater so I figured I would share my experience.

If anyone has any questions about it fell free to ask me, I answer them the best I can from my experience.

What kind of heat is the output (blowing air, etc.)? I'll be curious to see how it impacts your electricity bill. When I switched from a blower-style (1500W) to an oil-filled radiator (same wattage), my bill dropped $40/mo in the winter. I have a 10'x12' room, so similar size to yours.

I used to have the same years ago, the internal tstat went out and instead of shutting the heater off it actually let it run full blast, my room was 100 degrees. (Same exact brand).....watch it closely.

Personally I prefer oil filled heaters with a ranco t-stat especially for something that has to work 24/7, I need to be able to trust what I use especially when I am gone.

I do not trust thermostat that are on heaters (including oil filled heaters) they are the first thing going bad always have an external thermostat.

I agree I had a unit thermostat fail too not really a problem in my case the room is so cool that it was running almost full on all the time anyway. I dont trust them either. Some digital units if you cut the power it resets to something you don't want.

It is a convection heater. I'm hoping it doesn't affect my electric bill too much.
I have my spare rancho running my QT rack right now. As soon as I have the money for a herpstat I will be using the rancho for my room heating.
I am skeptical myself of anything built into a lower end electronic. I have had analog thermostats on heaters fail before. I will keep a close eye on it. I may actually hook a limit controller up to it that I have lying around.

I lost snakes to a malfunctioning heater. You'd think the failsafe for a heater would be to shut down, but instead it shot the temps to over 110f.

I tried a themostat but it kept shutting off, too much wattage, but now they make a thermostat for heaters, so next time it'll be one of those.
