Baby Jungle Coastal Carpet Python feeding help.
Hey Guys and Girls so I got my baby Oct. 8th I am currently giving her time in her new enclosure but I have seen her really active lately and since I'm new to Carpet Pythons I would like to know how they act when there showing signs of hunger. The store owner where I bought her from said she eats every Tuesday I tried giving her a live pinky on Friday she was vary interested in it she bit it but then left it alone and wasn't interested in her meal so I think I offered the pinky to soon. Do you guys have and advice for me or any tips that might help me iv done my research and have her temps where they should be, She likes to sleep on the log and vines at night and in the morning she likes to go in the hide I gave her. Her name is Mabel! Thanks for anyone that helps!

Thank you! Yeah shes been exploring her new home and I haven't seen her like that she usually hides away from me but now shes just moving around. The store manager told me to offer her pinkys but ill try the hopper. She so small so I was afraid to offer something bigger than a pinky but thanks I learn new things every day!:)

Ok Thanks I have 2 ball pythons and they tear through there food but she looks so small and fragile I was like wow I might need to get her the smallest but I hope she becomes a monster at eating I love it when they bring down there food and show a lot of interest in there meal!
Re: Baby Jungle Coastal Carpet Python feeding help.
Start feeding it rat pinkies, Carpets can become what we call "mouser snakes" and will refuse to switch to rats as they get larger and require a larger prey item. So it's always best to start newborn carpets on 1 day old rat pinkies, otherwise you'll be feeding a 6-8ft snake 5-6 mice at a time instead of one large/jumbo rat.
