I Got The Idea From This

Honestly, I don't think there would be any nutrients for a ball python. Stay with mice/rats.

DO DO DO DO DO DO ... DO DO... CUZ IM HUNGRY LIKE THE WOOOOOLFFF!!!!!!!!! I love that song lol.....
Anyways! Yah fish are not a natural part of a ball pythons diet. They eats mice/rats and thats all they need. Where as Garter snakes actually eat fish in the wild thats why many people will do something like that in the video.

Re: Fishies?
............. Wow. That video... I'm sitting here freaking out because I'm having flashbacks of Penny dragging her mouse into her water bowl a few weeks ago and freaking out that the snake is going to drown...
But yeah, while garter snakes and cottonmouths and snakes like that might eat fish and get by on them pretty well, a BP is meant to eat rodents. They have a great love for hamsters and gerbils, but since those are a touch expensive, mice and rats are fine. And I've honestly never heard of a BP chowing down on a fish. Interesting thought, though.

Garter snakes require a special diet of worms, fish, amphibians, etc until they get trained onto rodents (some people like them because they don't have to eat rodents, so there's that too). Feeding mice/rats means that your snake is getting all the nutrients it needs, and especially with a ball python if you've got it eating, don't change anything. Feeding things like fish also makes stool very runny and smelly
