Can you believe this?

I myself am a avid hunter. I grew up thinking that you dont kill it unless you are gonna eat it. Now I can understand hunting coyotes if there are to many and they causing damage and not eating them. I just realized you cant see the rest of it so...the picture is called a good start to the day and it shows 56 rattlers that were all pulled from one den and killed. It was taken from facebook where most people were cheering the killing of the snakes. The few people that asked why this was done or said that there was no need were ignored while everyone else added "kill em all" and "the only good snake is a dead snake".

My mom has a dress and a purse made out of 100% rattle snake. In the area we live a girl a very long time ago like 1950 killed off something like 1000 in one din and made the dress and stuff.

This is no better than the round ups

Rattlesnake roundups are nothing new. People have no shame in killing hundreds of rattlesnakes. They feel they're doing a GOOD thing.

I mean, it's one thing to kill a rattlesnake in your yard because you have kids, etc, it's another to just slaughter them because you can..

Wasn't there a video floating around about this time last year of a rattlesnake round up trade show / photo op booth? Where they had a few 5-6ft rattlers for photo ops for kids etc, and when the guy video taping asking what the danger was the girl was like "oh, no danger what so ever! Their mouths are sewn shut *big smile*" *cringe* Makes me sick to my stomach. Sew a live rattlers mouth shut, no biggie. How much of an uproar would you get if you did a photo op with a furry animals mouth SEWN SHUT! Freaking sickening.

*continues to ramble and rant* sew their mouths shut

*snarl* hope they get eaten by a gold fish..

I'm curious as to how they manage to see its mouth shut without getting bit :/

supposedly they freeze them for 2hrs then sew the mouths shut. Not sure of the credibility of this video, just showing what I found real quick.

They also show a guy who looks to be sewing a mouth in the background at the end. Not real clear, but you can tell it's a snake hanging there. If you get upset seeing a hanging snake, don't watch to the end :(

i know we here at bp.net are all snake lovers but i see nothing wrong with killing rattlers. i would kill rattlers to eat and for their rattlers.

As long as there is no waste I have no problem with it, my problem lies with killing just because you can and the stupidity of the masses
