    Proven boy's...choices!
So I am looking to get a Proven male, or a male of breeding weight/age. I'm trying to keep this specific guy relatively low in cost, as this will be our "trial" pairing to see if breeding is something we would like to do more of, or if just having our pets is enough work to keep me busy during the day :) He will be being paired to my reduced pattern normal girl (once they both pass QT time of course) and if everything works out and we want to move on with breeding, eventually I would like to pair him with my Lesser Pastel girl as well. I also have a hatchling Mojave boy in the mix for future projects (BELs of course) if the trial run turns out well.

So...I'm looking to keep costs below $150 if possible, I know, super low and very few options, but it is what it is. So far these are the boys I've seen on ks / fauna that are in my price range.. Pastel, Spider, YB, ghost possibly Fire, Enchi (I've seen one or two in my range, most of them being $200+) I had originally thought about getting a 100% het clown boy, but holding back all of the females to hopefully get a het just doesn't seem cost effective when you can get a 100% for $250 or so.

What morphs am I missing / forgetting about? Opinions on which to focus on? This is more for the experience, but if we could get a boy that went into our "if everything goes well and we want to continue" plans that would be awesome. Any advice / info is welcomed, thank you!

I would only get a 100% Het if it's carrying a more rare gene than Clown...Something like a Het Ultramel would be worthy of breeding to a Normal and keeping the females.

Your best option would be YB, Mojo, Pastel, etc...Also the offspring will be easier to sell if you decide not to keep any...

Thanks Jon! Yea, that's why I decided against the clown. If I could afford a het dg right now I would definitely do that. I was thinking YB because I want a yb girl for my mojo boy.. just can't seem to find any boys with size that interest me. So far all the big yb boys have been blah at best. Blarg....I hate decisions. Lol

Youve got a beautiful collection so far!

Um your normal has a nice reduced pattern so i would save up for a nice reduced pattern fire or an enchi male to put to her. Waiting longer and saving up more will be worth it. :gj:

Yea, I know..guess I just needed to hear it from other people... *looks around house...what can I sell..hmm* lol

Out of curiosity, though I have seen a few fires and enchi's in the 150-200 range, I figure those are flukes..what is the general going rate for breeding age male fires & enchi's?

Edit: The yea I know was for the advice, Thank you for the complement on the mini collection :D (didn't want you to think I was being all snooty)

I paid $250 shipped, so $190 basically, for my male fire. When i got him he was 300grams. Im obviously biased but i like to think hes a pretty good looking example of a fire.

If you can find a deal like that on a fire or enchi i would get it and then just raise it up. When he hits 500-600 grams start trying to pair him. Theres no set "bp breeding season" so it doesnt matter when he hits that weight. Getting a good example of the morph so you make hot babies is what matters most, imo. When it comes to fires and enchis there are alot of good examples and alot of crappy examples out there so take your time and really find one you like! :gj:

Kingsnake and fauna are both good places to look! :)

I would save some money and buy a nice enchi to put with that girl. Rather than getting a middle of the road quality, wait, save, and buy awesomeness!
