What to make a cage out of?

I plan to get a BP and want to know what you think a good cage be made out of I can do wood,metal,glass,plastic or all of them in one.

Just for one snake but for the most part I can build any sorta cage out of any sorta material that will work best for a BP. Its just I have read a all glass cage is not the best as its hard to keep the temp stable but I don't know as never had one.

PVC or polypropylene with front access seem to fit in my logic. I personally could not build one so I bought one and have liked it much better than the old top load aquarium. I've seen quite a few beautiful wood enclosures but I like how easy plastics are to sanitize.

So doing a plastic acrylic cage in a blue plastic for sides top and bottom then a front with clear in lay for looking in. And making the front being able to open 100%?

And a wood or metal stand?

This is true, the cages that seem to be best for easy cleaning are pvc type cages. They are quite a project to build!

I think a wood stand would be easier, I personally would prefer one. You will be most satisfied with a door that opens fully, so yes.

Can't be any harder then building a fish tank I have built many acrylic and glass aquariums. And all ready have all the tools I will need for the build what will make this really simple I don't need to worry about it holding water lol.

Building a acrylic tank I use almost all the same stuff as making something out of wood. But I can also do tig/mig welding and have it powder coated to look the same blue as the tank.

There is nothing at all wrong with wood. :)

I build all my cages out of wood and acrylic. The high humidity cages, like the ones above for ball pythons, I line completely with vinyl. Otherwise, I rely solely on the latex-based paint I use for water resistance. :) And the vinyl makes the inside just as easy to clean as any PVC cage. You can also make it any color you want, and add a nice background as well (covered by clear vinyl of course). :D
I've been using those two cages for at least 5 years now, and they are still in perfect condition. FYI that repaired crack in the acrylic door of the bottom cage happened in the truck while moving from CO to WA.
I'm currently finishing up version 2 of those cages, with a few nice improvements, and will post pics when they're complete.

Bottom line - make your cages out of whatever material you like best and can work well with. :)
