    Venting about crack head boss...
So a little back story. I worked for a company for 6 years and HATED it. I seriously was going no where and my boss sucked big time. I finally, after submitting 40 applications, got an interview.

It was for a home improvement company doing sales. They offered me a better schedule and more money. No brainer, so when I got offered the job, I promptly quit my other job and took the new one.

Now In my interview I clearly informed them that I had no experience in home improvement products. They said that was fine as they could teach me what I needed to know.

Well I worked there for two weeks and my boss cam to me at the end of the day yesterday and stated "I hate to do this but you just dont have any experience and we dont have the time or money to train you..."

He informed me that he had to let me go?!?!?!

So I quit my stable job of 6 years for a new opportunity only to be fired a coupld of weeks later. Now I have no job and im broke. I hate people sometimes.

Wow! I'm really sorry to hear this :(

That is freakin stupid. Who would hire you with no experience only to fire you for not having experience? No warning? Nothing?

That just seems wrong... They barely gave you a chance.

"We can teach you what you'll need to know"

"Sorry, you just don't have the experience"

    :confusd:

Sounds like the communication in that place is a little (LOT) challenged

If it were me, that sounds a lot like grounds for a lawsuit....

If nothing else, I'd sit on my butt for a minute and let Obamacare/surance/cade/aid/fare pay for my food.

I have never once in my life collected unemployment, food stamps, or any assistance, and I dont plan to start now. I am a veteran and have always been self reliant. The only thing that sucks is I now have no money to pay rent and take care of my 3 kids. There was no warning and I just feel a little "fornicated"

I say fornicated because apparently I recieved an infraction for abbreviating a cuss word with the letter F. Didnt realize this was bad enough to warrant an infraction.

I know things look pretty dark right now. This happened to me once. I left a job I worked in for 11 years to go with a company that let me go within about six months. I was devastated. There are two ways to look at your situation, as one that has ruined your life or an opportunity to retool and do what you want. I decided that I wanted to re-tool. I took a job that paid less, but gave me fewer hours so I could go to school. I finished my degree and now make several times the amount I did at the job I was fired from. As hard as it was, I look back now and see that it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I could have stayed at the job I worked for 11 years and been comfortable, but not happy.

Seize the day. Look at what you really want and use it as an opportunity to make the changes you need to make. Make this the best thing that happened to you in your career. Chin up and good luck!

No, not if it was within the grace period where they dont need a reason to fire you.

That sucks Rat, im sorry to hear that. Dont have too much pride to get help if you really need it. I like Don's idea^. try and turn the situation aroud into a positive if you can.

Washington state is a no cause state which means they can fire me for whatever they want. Now on the flip side he did make the mistake of telling me why they were firing me, which I could roll with.

On the other topic, I would love to go back to school but right now I have 3 boys under the age of 5 and bills add up, I cant afford to work for less or work part time unless I want to loose my house and vehicles. I was scraping to pay bills when I was making 13.50 an hour. I need something quick that pays me at least that. Not an easy feat.
