My bp just had another shed, shes growing fast. I can't decide if this was a "good" shed or not. She didnt have any problem getting the skin off, its just that it was not in one piece. Here's some so you can judge for yourself:

I came home and wasn't sure if anything had happened:

So I lift up her cool side hide and find this. Notice the excrement too. For some reason she only poops when she sheds...

So here's the skin she had no problem getting off, but not in one piece. I'm a little confused.

And here she is in the new skin:

So if any has had a similar experience, let me know, I really hope I'm not doing something wrong. Thanks in advance!

    Humidity issue?

it's okay if it isn't in one piece as long as she got it all off.

It's not a problem, my BP shed in chunks when he was younger. Nothing to worry about anyways. If you can get the humidity up ~60% during shed times, its easier for the snake to get it off in one piece.

It is not really that important that the shed is in one piece just so long as the shed is complete! By the way, she is a beauty!!

She's pretty! Looks like she has some granite speckling to her.

are you referring to the pigment that is on the sides towards her belly? Is that a desireable trait for breeding?

Also, I notice most other BPs are darker in color. Amber is, well, more amberish gold in the places in between the black patterns. Is this just a variation in a normal bp or did she have an albino ancenstor somewhere in her lineage?

The granite is the black speckling inside the alien heads, where most BPs have one or two fairly large round or oval-ish spots. Some people do indeed breed for that. There's a lot of variation in how light or dark or yellow-toned or orange-toned the brown on a normal BP pattern is, and yours is toward the lighter end. She's a pretty normal. :)
